Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Products marked as pre-order are not yet at our warehouse in Swarzędz near Poznań. We fulfil orders in the sequence they arrive, and we confirm the dispatch date with you individually by e-mail once you have placed your order. We inform you by email about any change to the date — if the timing doesn’t work for you, we will cancel the order and refund the full amount, no questions asked.

InPost parcel locker — 13.99 zł. DPD or InPost courier — 16.99 zł. Free delivery over 200 zł. We ship within Poland only. International shipping is quoted individually — write to us.

Once the parcel is dispatched: InPost parcel locker usually 1–2 working days, courier usually the next working day. We send the tracking number by email automatically.

Yes. Provide your tax ID (NIP) when placing the order and we will issue the invoice automatically and send it by email. The seller is Mensa Poland Sp. z o.o., NIP 7772791347.

Payment cards, BLIK, instant bank transfers and Apple Pay / Google Pay — all through Shopify Payments. Payment is encrypted and we do not store card details.

You have the statutory 14 days to withdraw from the contract without giving a reason — this also applies to spools whose vacuum packaging has been opened. On top of that we give a contractual 30-day guarantee for returning unused goods in intact packaging. We do not require prior approval or an RMA number for a return.

When withdrawing from the contract, the direct cost of sending the goods back is borne by the buyer. However, if the goods are defective, damaged in transit, or we sent the wrong product — we cover the shipping cost.

Yes. We are liable for the conformity of the goods with the contract for 2 years. Write to hello@mensa3d.com with your order number, a description of the problem and — if you can — a photo of the print along with your settings. We process complaints within 14 days. Before you report it: check whether the filament was dried and whether your settings match the temperature table — that solves most cases.

PLA — the easiest to print, needs neither an enclosed chamber nor a heated bed, and has almost no shrinkage. If you want something stronger with similar ease of use, go for Tough PLA.

PLA is stiffer, easier to print and gives better detail, but it already softens at 60 °C. PETG withstands up to 85 °C, is more chemically resistant and less brittle — at the cost of a greater tendency to string. For interiors and models: PLA. For functional parts, enclosures and anything exposed to heat or moisture: PETG.

HT PETG up to 125 °C, PA (nylon) up to 150 °C, ASA up to 110 °C, ABS up to 100 °C. Note: these values come from the manufacturer's FDM parameter table and are not the result of a standardised HDT test — do not treat them as a design parameter.

ASA is the material 3D printing traditionally reaches for when a part has to live outdoors. The manufacturer’s FDM parameter table gives it a temperature resistance of 110 °C and requires a closed frame at 50 °C, but it contains no UV resistance field at all — so we do not claim any. We have asked the manufacturer for that data. Outdoors, PLA will yellow and turn brittle within a single season.

PLA and PETG usually don't, provided the spool has been kept in a sealed bag. After a longer spell in the open air, 2–4 h at 30–40 °C is enough. PA (nylon) always has to be dried — 8–12 h at 65–80 °C immediately before printing, ideally printing straight from the dryer. You will find the full values in the temperature table.

In an airtight bag or container with a desiccant (silica gel), away from sunlight. Signs of moisture: crackling at the nozzle, bubbles on the surface, poor layer adhesion, and a matt print instead of a glossy one.

Most of them do — the entire PLA range, PETG, PETG Transparent, ABS and PLA/CF are compatible. Not compatible: HT PETG, PA, PLA Wood. Not recommended: ASA and TPU — a soft or highly shrinking material can jam the feeder. We state the AMS status in the technical table on every product.

For PLA/CF — yes, a hardened nozzle is required (hardened steel, ruby or carbide). Carbon fibre will destroy a standard brass nozzle within a few prints. PLA Wood is moderately abrasive and requires a 0.6 mm diameter. The remaining filaments work with a standard 0.4 mm nozzle.

1 kg net of material (the weight of the spool itself is not included). For reference: 1 kg of 1.75 mm PLA is roughly 330 m, PETG roughly 327 m.

Porima spools are made from recycled plastic. PLA filament itself is 100 % biodegradable and PETG is recyclable. ABS, ASA, PA and TPU are not covered by standard recycling.

We publish the full print parameters for every material in the temperature table and in the technical table on each product page. The manufacturer does not currently publish TDS/MSDS sheets as PDFs, nor RoHS/REACH/UL94 certificates — we have formally requested them.
