Five 3D printing calculators that run in your browser — no account, no data sent to a server and no ads. Each one answers a single concrete question, the kind every other person standing next to a printer ends up asking.
The tools are built around Porima's official FDM parameter table — the same one behind our print temperature chart. Wherever the manufacturer does not state a figure, we say so plainly instead of dropping in a number from the internet. That applies above all to polymer densities and shrinkage percentages — neither appears in the FDM parameter table, so the calculators that need them are built around measurement rather than around somebody else's table.
The calculators
3D print cost calculator — filament, electricity and time
Answers the question: what does this one print actually cost? It breaks the cost down into material, electricity and an allowance for failed prints, and also gives you the cost of one hour of printer time. You can enter the weight from your slicer or the filament length in metres.
How much filament is left on the spool? Weight calculator
Answers the question: will it last through this twelve-hour print? Weigh the spool, subtract the weight of the empty core and you get the grams and metres remaining, plus how many more parts you can print. Inside there is a grams-per-metre conversion table for 1.75 and 2.85 mm filament.
Shrinkage and dimensional compensation calculator
Answers the question: how much do I scale the model so the dimension comes out spot on? Enter the dimension from the model and the dimension measured with calipers, and you get the deviation as a percentage plus a ready-made scale factor for your slicer. The tool is measurement-based, because the manufacturer's FDM parameter table contains no shrinkage percentages and we are not going to invent them.
Volumetric flow rate calculator (mm³/s)
Answers the question: does my fast profile stand any chance of printing? Layer height times extrusion width times speed gives the flow in mm³/s, which you compare against your hotend's limit. The calculator also gives the highest speed and the highest layer height that still fit within that limit.
Drying filament — pick the temperature and the time
Answers the question: how many degrees and how many hours for my material? The selector covers Porima's full official matrix for twenty-five materials, including the two special cases: nylon, where drying is mandatory (8–12 h at 65–80 °C), and HIPS, which does not need drying at all.
What you will not find in these calculators
You will not find ready-made shrinkage tables for individual polymers, because the manufacturer does not publish them and the figures circulating online usually come from injection-moulding data sheets. Nor will you find declarations of conformity, HDT test results or tensile strength — Porima issues no TDS documents and no certificates, and we say so openly. The polymer densities used in the calculators are nominal values for the polymer family, clearly labelled as such, not a measurement of a specific batch.
What we do publish comes from one verifiable source: Porima's official FDM parameter table, covering thirty fields for each of twenty-five materials. You will find the full set in the print temperature chart, and the material list in the complete Porima range.
When a calculator is not enough
A calculator is only worth as much as the data you type into it. Porima filaments are produced to a ±0.03 mm diameter tolerance, and we publish the manufacturer's full official print data — you don't have to guess it. Our warehouse is near Poznań, in Swarzędz.
