About the Porima brand
Porima is a 3D-printing filament manufacturer whose materials are used by print farms, engineering companies and makers across Europe. The portfolio includes more than 30 filament types: from classic PLA and PETG, through high-speed Hyper PLA+ and the decorative Rainbow and Silk series, to technical materials — ABS, ASA, PA (nylon), PC/ABS and carbon-fibre composites.

From a PhD project to a factory — the Porima story
Porima was founded in Türkiye in 2018, growing out of its founder’s research project. The company started at Istanbul Technical University’s business incubator (İTÜ ARI Teknokent), where it was one of six startups selected for funding. In the years that followed it won awards and honourable mentions in Turkish industrial innovation competitions, and its technology development was backed by the KOSGEB agency under an R&D programme.
Today Porima runs a production plant in Yalova with a team of more than 50 people, backed by an industry investor — Aksa Akrilik, part of the Akkök group — which financed the expansion of its advanced production lines. Porima materials have been exported since 2020 to more than a dozen countries in Europe, the Middle East and the USA.
In-house R&D
Porima filaments are developed by the company’s own R&D team. Porima was founded by engineers — a polymer engineer and a materials engineer — and its founder and CEO, Dr Serhat Oran, holds a doctorate in polymer engineering. You can see that background in the portfolio: alongside standard PLA and PETG, Porima produces technical materials that require real formulation work — UV-resistant ASA, polyamides, carbon-fibre composites and PC/ABS.
